bridget jones is back on the big screen with great expectations

Picture
The Chronicles of Bridget Jones are making their way to the big screen again and they’re delivering a much needed laugh.  Once again, our heroine finds herself in a bit of a pickle.  After an unbridled affair at a music concert and a tete a tete with her ex, she finds herself in the family way.

The fact that there are two possible fathers for her unborn child proves to be a bit of a conundrum, even for Bridget, a woman who makes her way from one disaster to the next. Her choices are, well, quite choice.  Behind door number one Is the on-again, off-again Mark Darcy.  Door number two reveals  an American millionaire named Jack Qwant. Nice problem to have when trying to choose a  baby daddy.

Surprisingly, both men are interested in winning the paternity contest and claiming Bridget and the baby as their own. What follows is some not so light-hearted competion, and slapstick that will make you laugh, even while you're cringing at some truly embarassing life moments.

For fans of the Bridget Jones Series, this movie delivers to the heart and the funny bone. Renee Zellweger has done a great job of reviving the character and making her one women will relate to. Colin Firth is well.. he’s Mr. Darcy – enough said about that... and Patrick Dempsey has an easy charm and is quite easy on the eyes. The amazing Emma Thompson does a great job delivering laughs and medical advice and Bridget's OB/GYN. This is a much needed "chick flick" but men will enjoy it too, if you can get them to the theater. My date chuckled all the way through. Yours will too.
