Late Night. worth staying up for

Full confession. I’ve always been a big fan of Emma Thompson. She’s able to tackle just about anything, and now she’s tackling the nearly all-male world of Late Night with help from her amazing new friend, the ever-so-talented Mindy Kahling.
Thompson's "Katherine Newbury" was the first female talk-show host on a major network and the winner of 43 Emmy awards. She appears at the top of her game, but behind the scenes, her Late Night talk show is in in the tank and she’s about to be out of a job. And in spite of her making a name for herself in the tough world of television, she’s relied on an all-male team of writers to help with the jokes, team she’s never even met.
Enter Kahling's Molly. She’s an uber-fan of the show and a newcomer to the competitive world of late night television. To say she’s not entirely welcomed with open arms would be an understatement. Most of her male co-workers think she's a minority hire and don't do anything to make her feel welcome, So, she's got to make it on her own. Most of the time.
Mindy Kahling not only co-stars in this fun and funny summer comedy, but she also wrote the script, drawing on some of her own experiences at a writer for the hit sitcom “The Office,” as well as her own show, “The Mindy Project.” Late Night takes us into familiar territory, but looks at the world of live television, sexism and feminism with fresh new eyes and a woman’s perspective. Something we don’t often see in media. As Kahling has proved in the past, she’s not about to be stereotyped, and there’s nothing she can’t handle.
