Mark Wahlberg leads an all-star cast in "patriot's day"

Most of us remember being glued to our televisions on April 15, 2013, the day of the Boston Marathon Bombing. In Patriot’s Day, Mark Wahlberg leads an all-star cast (Michelle Monaghan, Kevin Bacon, John Goodman, JK Simmons) to take us behind the scenes to show us the horror of the attack and the inter-agency cooperation and the concern that went into catching the bombers. In the script, investigators are worried about the situation getting out of hand with massive media coverage and anti-Muslim backlash as chief concerns.
The film, co-written and directed by Peter Berg starts at the beginning and ticks the clock down to the final capture. It is a white-knuckle ride, full of twists and turns. It’s a full on police drama showing some of behind the scenes angst as investigators worry about what kind of information to release to the public.
At a time when there’s a lot of division in our nation, Patriot’s Day shows us what people of good will can do, if only they will stick together.
On a personal note, I met Michelle Monaghan at the Critics' Choice Awards in December. I told her how the movie touched me emotionally. (Spoiler alert: take tissue). She could not have been more kind or gracious.
