SHIRI APPLEBY ON THE REAL WORK ON "unreal's" second season

Picture

“UnREAL,” Lifetime’s provocative drama is back for Season 2 and actress Shiri Appleby continues to earn rave reviews for her portrayal of intense, complicated TV producer “Rachel Goldberg” on the Peabody Award-winning series.

"UnREAL," brings the down and dirty reality of reality television into sharp focus as it dives into the fast-paced and chaotic production of a fictional dating competition series called “Everlasting.” Conflict is inevitable as “Rachel” gets promoted to showrunner for the new season by her tough and manipulative boss, “Quinn King,” played by Constance Zimmer. But “Rachel’s” new elevated status is short-lived when “Quinn” decides she needs to be back in the driver’s seat to deliver their network the mega-ratings she promised them.

We caught up with Shiri Appleby earlier this month when she joined her cast members and Lifetime executives at the Harmony Gold Theater in West Hollywood as part of an Emmy/For Your Consideration screening.
Appleby talked about “Rachel’s” producing style and her often-questionable choices as well as making her TV directorial debut with Episode 6 of the sophomore season of “UnREAL.” The second season of “UnREAL” continues on Lifetime Mondays at (ET/PT) on Lifetime.
