You know the old saying about the grass not always being greener on the other side, well multiply that times 10 and you’ve got the premise of the girl on the train. Emily Blunt is Rachel. She’s divorced and an alcoholic, and can’t seem to let go of her ex-husband. The train she rides each day goes past her old neighborhood and she becomes fixated on one young couple living there. The girl on the train presents a trio of women, each broken in her own way. Rachel, her husband’s new wife, Anna (Rebecca Ferguson)and Megan (Haley Bennett).
As the story unravels we find out about the lies and deception in each of their lives as Rachel tries to find out what happened to Megan, and to put her own life back together. A feel good story, this is not, however, it is a strong story with women at the forefront. They mystery and suspense of the crime is almost as tense as the mystery behind all the broken lives.
