parasite Makes History at the 92nd Academy Awards

Parasite made history Sunday night as the first foreign language film to ever win the Best Picture Award at the 92nd Academy Awards. The South Korean film earned a total of four golden statues including Best Director, International Film and Original Screenplay.  1917, another favorite earned three:  Cinematography, Visual Effects and Sound Mixing. 
There were no real suprises in the acting categories. Renee Zellweger earned a Best Actress Oscar for her turn as Judy Garland in Judy.  Laura Dern  earned her first Oscar as Supporting Actress in Marriage Story, The child of actors Bruce Dern and Diana Ladd, she is the first member of her family to win an Academy Award. Joaquin Phoenix took home the prize as Best Actor for Joker and Brad Pitt won Supporting Actor for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
