Will smith takes on the ultimate challenge in "gemini man"
Will Smith has tried and true box office appeal as an action star and as an every-man. He’s combining these two personas with a bit of a twist in Gemini Man.
Smith goes from the hunter to the hunted in this not-so-futuristic action fantasy. Smith’s Henry Brogan is a former hit man who just wants to retire, but he’s seen as too much of a danger to the secret government agency he worked for, so they’ve decided to terminate him. Permanently. To Brogan's surprise, he discovers the would-be assassin is a mirror image of himself.
That's right, a government contractor, played by Clive Owen, has done the unthinkable, cloned Brogan and turned him into a secret weapon. Ironically, Owen's Clay Veris has raised the young Brogan as his own son and lovingly refers to him as "Junior." Both Brogan and Veris served together in the military, but emerged with very different agendas in their efforts to snuff out "bad guys."
Joining the fray is Mary Elizabeth Winstead, She's a spook sent to spy on Brogan in his retirement. When she's considered collateral damage by the agency she serves, she joins Brogan, and the fight is on.
